Climbing is a Community

While we’re on the gear climbing theme in Squamish (see below),  here is a video from Alex Lavigne that was just released last week on the amazing Patagonia Video Site.

Last summer I did a few days of hanging with friends and climbing for Alias Cinema’s.  They shot ascents of Edge of Pan and Sugar Daddy along with interviews.   Here’s a synopsis from the Alias Vimeo Page….

Friends Paul Bride (photographer) and Marc-Andre Leclerc (climber) share some insight into Sonnie’s never ending pursuits in the inspiring Squamish Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Produced by AliasCinema in cooperation with Patagonia.”

Wow Alex Lavign did an awesome job on filming for this short video. Super inspiring, real, and true. Love it. Great words and amazing looking ascents!

Great video. That sort of climbing appeals to me more than the videos of some new wunderkind smashing out a sport route. Don’t get me wrong, I love those too but I just love those perfect granite corners of the Chief so much more. OK, I so have to get back to Squamish soon….. I miss that stuff too much.

  4. Beautiful video. So inspiring. Great soundtrack as well. Can’t wait for climbing season to start up north.
