I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. Just a couple of things. We went to the Best of Banff last night in Vancouver, the last night of three and I have to say it was one of the best collection of high quality adventure films I’ve ever seen in my life. I would buy each and every one of their DVD’s and it was worth the hour drive south to check em out. ‘ Journey to the Center’ is a 55 minute film about three guys who try jumping into a very dangerous cave and it’s ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I was gripped the whole time and it never ever felt like 55 minutes, it was fast, upbeat and powerful. It’s no wonder it won the Best Film at Banff. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. The other films were jaw dropping as well, ‘Seasons’ a mountain biking thrill ride , ‘Avalanche Safety’ was stunning and the new ‘Sharp End’ was fully hilarious with Alex Honnold stealing the show by climbing one of the worlds most beautiful aretes. This tour is an absolute must, the quality of production is getting insane, crisp and sharp and the film makers are really pulling us into the worlds of these athletes, I was very – very impressed.
One last note, a friend of mine Sean McColl is in Montreal right now climbing at the 2008 Continental Championships. I’ve got my money on that boy for a win, but I’m wishing all athletes a very safe and fun filled event. You can see all the action LIVE at www.drtopo.com. Best wishes.
